OVERVIEW
Hamster Corporation has further ported their PlayStation 4 port of the original arcade Contra to the Nintendo Switch, under their Arcade Archives line. It is essentially identical to that version, including the presence of both North American and Japanese regional releases of the original game. It is available through the Nintendo eShop. TECHNICAL INFORMATION

-Similar to Hamster’s PS2 port, this version consists of a proprietary emulator, which runs the ROM images of the Japanese and North American arcade originals. Some, though not all, of the original DIP switch settings can be customized through the user interface provided.
-It is worth noting that the emulation code in Hamster’s port was not reused for other ports of the arcade game, such as the one featured in Konami Collector’s Series: Arcade Hits. This edition does not have the flawed emulation code found in those other versions.
