CONTRA – NES BETA VERSION
BETA VERSION (NES)
A rare beta of the North American version of NES Contra was released to the public. While details of this release are uncertain, file information suggests that it dates as early as 1996. It is nearly identical to the retail version, except that the player is provided 99 lives and the Barrier powerup is permanently activated. There may be many other differences.
It is unknown whether or not the physical copy of this beta is still in circulation, or even in existence. The origin of this beta is also unknown.
