-The original arcade version of Super Contra contains 4 unused tracks in the game data, which can be heard here. The third track (M-3) would later be used for the 5th stage in the NES version of Super Contra.

-Like most arcade games of its time, Super Contra includes numerous DIP switches that can be set to various configurations to alter the gameplay. The switches set the following parameters:

Coin A: How many coins are required for a given amount of credits (Player 1). Options include:
4 Coins/1 Credit
3 Coins/1 Credit
2 Coins/1 Credit
1 Coin/1 Credit
3 Coins/2 Credits
1 Coin/2 Credits
4 Coins/3 Credits
2 Coins/3 Credits

*The player has unlimited continues.

Coin B: How many coins are required for a given amount of credits (Player 2). Options are the same as Coin A, above.

Lives: The starting number of lives provided for the player. Options include:

Orientation: Screen arrangement relative to cabinet orientation. Options include:

Bonus Life: 2 values, number of points required to gain the first life and the number of points required to gain all following lives. A single value indicates that it is shared between the first and all following lives. Options include:

Difficulty: Sets the difficulty of the game. Options include:

Normal
Difficult
Very Difficult

Attract Mode Sounds: Sounds played during the Attract Mode demos. Options include:

Unknown: Unknown. Options include:

Service Mode: Alternates the game mode between regular play and a test mode that determines proper functionality. Options include:

Continuation Limit (1 Player/2 Players): Number of continues that can be used during a game session. Options include:

-Slider controls are also present that customize various internal game settings, such as the display (aspect raio, brightness, etc.), audio and system speed.
