Most, if not all of the names provided here are unofficial. Due to the ambiguity of enemy names between regions, the lack of names for several of them and the absence of various documents, it is impractical to list the correct designations. Help is strongly encouraged and always appreciated to fill in these blanks. The Opposition section serves primarily to describe and depict the enemies for bookkeeping; thus, the content presented below hopefully satisfies this criterion.

Note: Enemies and objects that take multiple hits to defeat have increased strength with increasing difficulty. Some enemies also appear in greater numbers on higher difficulty settings.

After even more damage, it repeats the following attack sequence: from high in the air, it hovers left and right a few times, dropping 2 constant streams of Mortars, 1 from each wing; it then descends close to the ground and hovers left and right a few times; next, it uses the dual Mortar stream attack from a moderate altitude; finally, it flies sinusoidally around the battle area.

They also occasionally jump up and hang on the ceiling; if the player is also hanging from the ceiling, they either use their flame thrower or fire several projectiles in a spread formation at the player; if not, they simply drop back down.

After receiving enough damage, their legs are destroyed and their upper bodies remain, starting the second phase. Now, the robots hop back and forth on the ground. BOSSES

Mutant Dragonfly:

Flies slowly around the battle area. It occasionally lays eggs that hatch Dragon Snakes.

This mini-boss is taken from Contra: Legacy of War, but is less motile.
Found in stages: T

Alien Cargo Train Engine:

ccadventtrainhead

Organic head of the enemy train, protected by a layer of Cannon-Coated Armor. The cannons on the armor fire Bouncing Shells that must be shot, bouncing them back into the armor to damage/destroy it; the armor is removed in fragments. When it’s almost completely removed, the Organic Head underneath it begins to periodically spit spike clusters to the left. Throughout the battle, Kamikaze Missiles are launched.
Found in stages: 1

Jumping Cannon:

cconadventjumpcan

The player fights 2 of these large cannons that resemble lamps. They stomp around on the ground, sending shock waves radiating out. They also fan a heat ray on the ground towards the player, which leaves a temporary flame trail. Their heads are their weak points.
Found in stages: 2

Snake-Powered Machinery:

cconadvent3boss

Large mechanical wall, powered by 3 Alien Snakes that hide inside it (protected), periodically periodically peering out of elevated hatches to attack (vulnerable). The Alien Snakes are the goal of the boss battle and their heads are their weak points. They switch between spitting flames and extending to the player and dropping a floating time bomb. Out of 5 holes at the wall’s base, Lemming Arachnids periodically crawl out.

The boss also holds optional components that serve no real purpose. Above the hatches is the Spinning Cogwheel; above this component are 3 Pumps. To the right of the entire machinery is the Rotary Gear. The 3 hatches occasionally open up to simultaneously fire a missile.
Found in stages: 3

Alien Caterpillar:

cconadventalcatrplr

The 3 creatures finally break out of their glass confinement and grow into large, flying, caterpillar-like craetures. They simply fly around the room, following the player. On the Easy difficulty setting, this is the final boss of the game.
Found in stages: 4

Native Guardian:

ccadvent6boss

Animate statue of a native’s head that is attached to the far wall; it initially attacks with defense components.

In the first phase, the Lateral Gears are the weak points; they are protected by mechanical arms that frequently block the gears. The arms stop blocking them when they use 1 of 3 attacks randomly. They either throw a bunch of blades at the player, drop a Flaming Groundhog or launch a Tracking Crossbow. When each Lateral Gear is destroyed, its respective mechanical arm deactivates.

cconadvent5boss2

When both Lateral Gears are destroyed, the Native Statue becomes animate, which begins the second phase. It slides around the wall, periodically stopping to emit a series of ocular laser beams at the player.

cconadvent5boss3

After receiving some damage, it uses the deactivated mechanical arms as a pair of legs and detaches from the wall, initiating the third phase. Now, it can jump towards or run up to the player and spit flames at him. This boss is not present on the Easy difficulty setting.
Found in stages: 5

Engineer-Demon Assembly Line Gyaba:

Wall-mounted machine that consists of a Robotic Head (weak point) and robotic claw arms. The arms frequently block and protect the head, only moving away to build attack devices. The attack device that they build depends on how much damage the boss has received. When a device, or group of devices, is destroyed, another one is rebuilt.

In the order of their appearances, the devices are Sentry Bots, Barrel Inchworms and Jet Pack Turrets.

When the boss’ health is below a certain amount, it stops building devices. It aims its left claw arm at the player for a few seconds before launching it at him.

Now, the boss attaches various arm weapons that attack briefly before being launched at the player. It attaches a mini-gun that fires several bullet clusters, a rocket-launching cannon and then a large hammer arm that sends a shock wave when it smashes on the ground. The boss cycles through these weapons in this order until it is defeated.

Throughout the battle, the Robotic Head periodically fires a series of dual laser beams at the player. This boss is not present on the Easy difficulty setting.
Found in stages: 6

Wall Crawler:

cconadvent7boss

Giant robotic spider that crawls around, readjusting its position on the screen. In the first phase, the player must destroy 5 Blinking Cores that periodically launch phosphorous missiles towards the screen. The Blinking Cores surround a Central Core that periodically shoots flames for a few moments; this component is the main weak point of the boss battle, but is vulnerable only after the other 5 components are destroyed. This boss is not present on the Easy difficulty setting.
Found in stages: 7

Defense System:

The first phase consists of Defense Cores and Defense Turrets placed in the following arrangement:

ST DC ST
DC DC DC

The Defense Turrets simply fire lasers at the player, constantly. The Defense Cores have shutters that periodically close momentarily, protecting the cores. When all 6 components are destroyed, the second phase begins. Here, the large upper screen drops to the ground. The player must destroy the Glass Screen to activate the second phase components.

ccadventloneeye

The phase 2 components are the Upper Inflammatory Eye Garumakiruma and the Lower Inflammatory Eye Garumakiruma. The upper one constantly rolls back and forth along the length of the screen, periodically firing missiles. The lower one is mostly protected by a closed shutter. It stops rolling at one side of the screen, opens its shutter (rendering it vulnerable) and emits a heat ray from one side of the ground to the other and back. The shutter then closes and it rolls to the other end to repeat the pattern.

Both components need to be destroyed to defeat the boss. This boss is not present on the Easy difficulty setting.
Found in stages: 8

Mother Alien:

ee9hkjr

Final boss of the game. This large, humanoid alien performs a long chain of attacks. It starts by emitting an ocular heat ray along the ground and platforms for 2 loops, clockwise; the ray leaves short-lasing flame trails. Its 2 arms each periodically emit a Sentient Plasma Orb.

The boss then launches several pairs of red plasma orbs at the player; they detonate into flames at the player’s immediate positions. Next, it vomits acid a few times in a limited arc range that follows the player’s direction. This pattern is then repeated, but in the opposite direction.

The Mother Alien’s head is its weak point. This boss is not present on the Easy difficulty setting.
